Worrying Development for the Tourist Industry in Cyprus – Well done Malta.
Malta undertook a deliberate diversification away from British tourists, and as a result, tourism from Britain only constitutes 20% of the Tourist arrivals. Cyprus has tried but has not been as successful in diversifying – British tourists still dominate the lion’s share of the tourists arrivals. Now German daily “Bild” cautions Germans to stay away from Agia Napa as it is full of British holidaymakers on budget “Sun – Sea – Drunkenness” tourism that is very unattractive to high value German tourists. Well done Malta, a lesson there for Cyprus and probably for areas of Spain.
